A group of Trinidad & Westhaven locals have been holding monthly potlucks starting in January of 2026 to discuss and create a local TimeBank. We created an account for our TimeBank at hOurWorld.org where we can share offers and requests and we continue to hold monthly social gatherings.
Timebanking reweaves communities by joining the unused resources with unmet needs of residents. Any individual can participate, as well as organizations, businesses, and government agencies. A Time Bank turns everyday acts of helping into a network of care. Each hour you give earns an hour you can receive, and every exchange builds a stronger, more inclusive community where everyone’s time and talents matter.
Everyone has value: Timebanking treats everyone—regardless of age or ability—as having valuable skills to contribute.
Reciprocity and Dignity: Members earn one "time credit" for every hour of help they give, which can then be used to receive services when needed. This exchange system fosters a sense of purpose and mutual respect.
Social Connection: Timebanks create robust social networks that help reduce loneliness.
Community Events: TimeBanks hold periodic potlucks or other events where members can get to know each other.
